Cooking wild rice may take a long time, and it may not cook uniformly in a microwave, which can lead to the grains being either undercooked or overdone. This is due to the fact that wild rice cooks from the outside in.

On the other hand, if you are in a bind and do not have access to a cooktop, oven, or rice cooker, you may attempt to cook wild rice in a microwave by following the approach that is described here:

1. Under running cold water, wild rice should be thoroughly washed.

2. Put the wild rice in a bowl that can go in the microwave, and then add the required quantity of water to the bowl. If the wild rice is not completely cooked, continue microwaving it in three-minute increments until the grains are soft and the water has been absorbed. If the rice is not totally cooked,

5. After the wild rice has finished cooking, fluff it with a fork in a meticulous manner, and then serve it. You may eat the wild rice by itself, or you can use it as the foundation for a wide range of other recipes, such as salads, stir-fries, casseroles, and many more.

It is essential to keep in mind that cooking wild rice in a rice cooker, on top of the stove, or in the oven may not provide the same results in terms of texture and taste as other methods, such as using a microwave. In addition, the power and efficiency of microwaves might vary from model to model, which means that the amount of time needed to cook food in a microwave could be different.
